Happy New Year!
Hopefully 2016 will be better than 2015. From all the turmoil in the world economy-Greece, China, Oil-to the Fed ACTUALLY raising interest rates for the first time in almost a decade, it's a wonder that the markets ended up flat and not down 10 percentage points. As I predicted at the end of November, the year ended relatively flat. When all the indeces are flat and the G Fund is the best performing, it is hard to achieve an Alpha of any significance. Even though the TSP funds are limiting in this regard, it is still a great vehicle for retirement investing, espcially when the government matches contributions (military matching is coming soon).
So, I am starting off 2016 the same way I started 2015, 100% in the C Fund. As far as the TSP is concerned, my system still believes this is the best fund to be in.
