This year is developing into a banner year for the I Fund. It was only 6 months ago when articles were complaining about the I Fund and how it is not truly an international fund nor does it take advantage of developing markets as almost 75% is invested in the following five countries: Japan, the UK, France, Germany and Switzerland. Understanding these markets, the geopolitical climate driving their returns, and the elephant in the room, Brexit, is nigh impossible. I think we find ourselves in a very enviable position with positive returns across all the Funds. As a result, my system is recommending that I continue to devote more of my investments into the I Fund while still balancing the always uncertain future of the international markets with the C and some of the S Fund. Although I'm not one for hedging in my monthly summaries, I will say that I would not be surprised to see August be a down month across the board. For my new military members, remember to maximize your investment for your retirement! Keep Investing!
