We just had the best monthly return in the C Fund and the S Fund since I have been using my system, August 2004. It is even more amazing when you consider today was a rather sharp decline. Americans and the world want to get back to work. Many states are reopening as of today. The pandemic, while awful, is certainly not the killer of 1MM+ Americans the news media broadcasted to the world. In my last monthly report, I stressed certainty. Once we have certainty around the pandemic, certainty will return to our country and the markets. I think we have hit that inflection point. While there are going to be down month ahead of us, I think we are going to see a pandemic recession-recovery no one expected. Pent up demand, stimulus checks, an urge to get back to work, and a new desire to move manufacturing back to North America will drive our economy for the next 6 months and beyond. On another note, news was just released that President Trump is considering an executive order to ban the TSP I Fund investment in Chinese stocks. While I'm not thrilled about our investments being used as leverage (what if the Chinese concede to the COVID-19 origins, would President Trump rescind his executive order?), I am happy to know the seriousness of TSP investments in the Chinese Communist Party are being taken seriously. Stay focused on the long-term goal of making your retirement grow through active management of your TSP and matching funds! Keep investing!
